A rally of working people and trade union members took place at the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex on January 11 to pledge to thoroughly implement the decisions made at the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
It was attended by trade union officials from Pyongyang and the provinces, relevant officials, and officials, workers and trade union members of the complex.
Pak In Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, delivered a keynote speech.
He said that upon the proposal made by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee extended thanks in the name of the Party Central Committee to exemplary officials, workers, scientists and technicians in the sector of agriculture.
Their victory is definite as they are led by Kim Jong Un, he said, calling on all officials, workers and trade union members to work hard so as to glorify this year as a year of fresh victory by following the path indicated by the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee.
Oath-taking speeches were made there.
Speakers said that an all-people decisive battle, which is aimed at hastening the overall development of socialist construction with greater success and victory, is calling workers including trade union members, and expressed their resolution to add brilliance to this year’s grand struggle with continuous innovation and advance while demonstrating the indomitable spirit of the heroic working class, as former generations did, by upholding the banner of self-reliance.
A letter of pledge to General Secretary Kim Jong Un was adopted at the rally.
