Pyongyang, January 14 (KCNA) -- A consultative meeting of the Organizing Committee of the International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu was held through video conferencing on Jan. 7.
Present there were Jesus Antonio Carlos Hernandez, general secretary of the C.C., People's Socialist Party of Mexico, Damian Ogbonna, national chairman of the People's Progressive Party of Nigeria, Peter Woods, co-chairman of the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee for Supporting Peaceful Reunification of Korea, Victor Petrov, chairman of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, and Yehia Zakaria Khairullah, vice-chairman of the Socialist Freedom Party of Egypt, who are co-chairmen of the organizing committee, and C. P. Mainali, general secretary of the C.C., Nepal Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist) who is vice-chairman of the organizing committee, and members of the organizing committee and delegates from national and regional organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people.
The consultative meeting reviewed the work of the organizing committee and discussed an action program for celebrating 2022 with splendor worldwide.
The national chairman of the People's Progressive Party of Nigeria made an opening address to be followed by a report of the co-chairman of the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee for Supporting Peaceful Reunification of Korea.
The reporter recalled that the organizing committee had praised the exploits of the great leaders of the Korean people and given wide publicity to the reality of the DPRK, true to its principal mission.
He extended thanks to the friends in several countries who made positive contributions to the successful worldwide celebrations.
Expressing the belief that the consultative meeting would be an occasion of exchanging sincere and constructive opinions in mapping out the action program, he appealed to the participants to more briskly conduct the solidarity activities praising the immortal exploits of the outstanding leaders and supporting the just cause of the Korean people this year of significance.
Speeches were made at the meeting.
Then a press statement of the organizing committee was issued.
A letter to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting. -0-
