Pyongyang, January 14 (KCNA) -- The Organizing Committee of the International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu issued its press statement at a consultative meeting held through video-conferencing on January 7.
According to the press statement, the meeting decided on action programs for significantly celebrating the greatest national holidays of the Korean people.
It said that the Organizing Committee of the International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu would set an international celebration period for the 110th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung and the 80th birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il , auspicious holidays common to mankind, and rev up the atmosphere for celebrating them worldwide.
The press statement noted that the organizing committee would set an international celebration period from February greeting the Day of the Shining Star, the birthday of Kim Jong Il , to April greeting the Day of the Sun, the birthday of Kim Il Sung , and organize colorful events and actively promote and coordinate the activities to celebrate the birth anniversaries worldwide.
It will organize colorful and peculiar international functions through internet, it said.
During the celebration period, the committee will splendidly organize an internet seminar " Kim Jong Il , image of Juche Korea" and an internet photo exhibition "Mt Paektu" in February and an internet celebration stage " Kim Il Sung , the eternal sun of mankind" in April and conduct publicity activities to attract more personages to an international literature prize contest to be held on the birth anniversaries, it added.
It expressed the will to glorify this meaningful year by conducting ceaseless activities for supporting the just cause of the Korean people worldwide. -0-
