Pyongyang, January 19 (KCNA) -- The railway transport sector of the DPRK draws up and implements innovative plans for satisfying the growing demand for transport this year.
The Ministry of Railways has found a way to get rid of deviation revealed in its work on the basis of the last year's achievements, experience and lessons and taken necessary measures to ensure the regular operation without accident in railway transport.
It took proper operational and technical measures for stepping up the modernization of railway and using the existing transport capacity to the maximum and established a centralized traffic control system to urge all the units to carry out this year's plan for transport of goods.
And realistic plans are worked out to ensure the safety of railway lines, replace the existing railway lines with heavy ones and update all the railway lines.
In addition, taken are measures for manufacturing new-type carriages and repairing locomotives and passenger and cargo carriages in a qualitative way and in good time so as to ensure their normal operation.
And steps are taken to settle the technical problems arising in meeting the demand for transport by tightening the discipline and order in organization and command over transport services.
Discussed are the issues of solving all problems by scientifically and realistically drawing up goals and plans and of further strengthening the material and technical foundation of railway by waging a strong emulation for maximum increased production and economy.
Amid the intensified operational discussion for implementing the decisions of the Party plenary meeting and the taking of practical measures, the elated fighting spirit of the railway workers leads to innovative successes at all workplaces. -0-
