Pyongyang, January 19 (KCNA) -- Agricultural officials and workers in North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK have been making good preparations for this year's farming.
So far they've secured more than 1.5 million tons of compost and lots of small and medium farming tools and farming materials.
Co-op farms of Orang and Myonggan counties and other farms in the province put much organic fertilizer in the fields on the basis of data collected through the correct analysis of each area.
They've carpeted low-yielding fields with humus soil in a responsible manner. They pushed ahead with the production of organic fertilizer under a plan to increase the fertility of soil, while updating their pumping stations by themselves.
They also secured small and medium farming tools and repaired and maintained farm machines with a sense of responsibility. And a socialist emulation drive was launched among farms and workteams to provide many farming materials.
While securing and transporting homemade compost, they are concentrating efforts on storing water in reservoirs and repairing water pumps, transformers, electric motors and groundwater tapping facilities in order to successfully do farming even under the disastrous weather conditions.
