Pyongyang, January 20 (KCNA) -- The urban management sector in the DPRK is taking positive measures to provide the people with more convenient and cultural living conditions and environment.
Pyongyang City and local areas map out plans for conducting the river improvement projects in a planned and scientific way. Under deep discussion are the matters arising in finishing the dredging of river-bed and repairing and constructing embankment that are planned this year without fail and pushing ahead with the projects for hillside and streamlet erosion control in close connection with relevant units.
Also discussed are the practical ways for stepping up the projects for construction of reservoirs and expansion of their storage capacity in provinces, cities and counties and further improving the sanitary safety through the repair of such equipment as water pipes and pumps and reinforcement of overall drinking water disinfection processes.
Meanwhile, a work is going on to find the ways for adding beauty to cities and villages by repairing pavements and bridges in a responsible manner and pushing forward the afforestation and greening.
Pyongyang City detailed the organizational work to finish the remodeling and repair of the April 15 Children's Flower Garden so as to turn the city into a more beautiful park. -0-
