Pyongyang, January 21 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun says in an editorial Friday that upon receiving the news of the 6th Meeting of the Political Bureau of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, all the Korean people harden their will to translate the patriotic desire of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il for building a powerful country into a brilliant reality under the leadership of the Party Central Committee, looking back upon their sacred revolutionary life.
The Korean people should celebrate with splendor the 110th birth anniversary of the President and the 80th birth anniversary of the Chairman as the grand festivals of victory and glory, thus fully demonstrating the dignity and might of Kim Il Sung's nation and Kim Jong Il's Korea, the editorial says, and goes on:
To most auspiciously and significantly celebrate the Day of the Sun and the Day of the Shining Star this year is the bounden duty and moral obligation of the descendents of the President and the soldiers and disciples of the Chairman. It is also the high honor and pride of our people who have been faithful to the cause of the President and the Chairman.
Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il are the eternal leaders of our Party and people, the symbol of socialist Korea and the sun of Juche.
Led by the President and the Chairman, the Korean people came to have a powerful weapon for opening up and glorifying the era of independence and our country demonstrated its dignity as a socialist state of independence, self-sustenance and self-defence.
The Day of the Sun and the Day of the Shining Star this historic year will serve as important political occasions of further cementing the firm faith of our people to carry forward and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche, pioneered and led by the President and the Chairman, under the guidance of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, and of demonstrating to the world the high enthusiasm and revolutionary mettle of all the Party members and other people to crown a decade of Juche 110 with great victories in bringing about the overall development of Korean-style socialism.
