The sector of urban management is taking active measures to provide the people with more convenient and cultural living conditions and environment in order to carry out the important tasks presented by the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Measures are taken in Pyongyang City and provinces to do the river improvement projects in a planned way, repair urban and rural houses and public buildings with imperfect technical conditions in a qualitative way and expand the drinking water production capacity to supply the inhabitants with sufficient amount of clean water.
Practical measures are taken to expand the capacity of the sewage purifying facilities and recycle the wastes. Ways are actively explored to repair pavements and bridges with responsibility and promote afforestation and thus add beauty to the cities and villages and put the overall urban management on a highly scientific basis.
