Since the beginning of the New Year, medical workers of public health institutions across the country have conducted brisk outreach health service activities.

According to Sin Jin Hyok, deputy department director of the Ministry of Public Health, the ministry and public health institutions organized outreach medical teams staffed with competent medical workers to dispatch them to major factories, enterprises and cooperative farms, while taking measures to provide necessary medicines and medical supplies.

Doctors and nurses from the Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences Hospital and the Kim Man Yu Hospital set up medical posts at the Pyongyang Thermal Power Station and the East Pyongyang Thermal Power Station, which bustle with a drive for increased production, and give workers health check-ups and provide them with devoted medical services to encourage them to achieve innovative successes every day in good health.

Those from the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital, General Dental Hospital under the Ministry of Public Health, Ryugyong Dental Hospital and Ryugyong General Ophthalmic Hospital engage themselves in medical service activities at the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk textile and silk mills and other factories.

“I feel easier with my eyes thanks to doctors from the Ryugyong General Ophthalmic Hospital who came to check-up and apply eye drops. I want to express my gratitude to doctors engaging in outreach health services by overfulfilling my assignment,” said Han Chol Ok, spinner of the chemical fibre spinning workshop of the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill.

Public health institutions in each province, city and county conduct outreach health service activities in a mobile way.

Medical workers from curative and preventive institutions at all levels in North and South Hamgyong provinces are also actively involved in outreach health services at hundreds of units in the provinces, including the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, Hungnam Fertilizer Complex and February 8 Vinalon Complex.

Health workers of the Nampho City People’s Hospital give medical services with sincerity to employees in production sites of large industrial bases including the Chollima Steel Complex, Kumsong Tractor Factory and Taean Heavy Machine Complex, which turned out to the struggle to glorify this year with proud production achievements.

With a high consciousness of taking charge of workers’ health, members of outreach health service teams in North Phyongan, South Hwanghae and Kangwon provinces improve the quality of medical services to contribute to production.

Public health establishments regard outreach health services as their natural duty, as the state takes responsibility for and care of the health of working people in the DPRK.
