Pyongyang, January 25 (KCNA) -- Four years have passed since the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un inspected the .
The factory was built as the first pharmaceutical industrial base of the DPRK in Juche 35 (1946) on the initiative of President Kim Il Sung.
The President, who always paid deep attention to the promotion of the people's health, took a step to move the factory to a safe area in order to produce medicines during the Fatherland Liberation War (June 1950 - July 1953). Although everything was in short supply after the ceasefire, he provided equipment and materials needed for modernizing the factory.
Chairman Kim Jong Il made sure that modern production processes were established at the factory and latest equipment sent to boost the production of essential medicines.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un inspected the factory on Jan. 24, 2018. He expressed satisfaction over its integrated production system meeting the requirements of the standards in medicine production and quality control, which was established for the first time in the country's pharmaceutical industrial sector. During the inspection he gave teachings to resolve the issues arising in production, including the one of equipping the factory with more modern analysis facilities to put the analysis of medicines on a scientific basis and increasing the varieties of medicines and their efficacy.
The factory has achieved successes in developing highly efficacious and popular medicines in recent years.
