Pyongyang, January 26 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung made public his work "Let Us Increase the Area of Cropland by Reclaiming Large Areas of Tideland" on January 27, Juche 71 (1982).
At a consultative meeting of senior officials in the field of tideland reclamation that day, the President indicated the tasks and ways to expand cropland by reclaiming tideland on a wide scale, including the issues of successfully guiding the tideland reclamation and timely supplying equipment and materials needed for it.
Thanks to the wise guidance of President Kim Il Sung , Chairman Kim Jong Il and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , arable land has expanded in the DPRK through successful tideland reclamation, a patriotic long-term project for the happiness of the posterity and the prosperity of the country.
With the completion of reclaiming the Pidansom Tideland in North Phyongan Province, Sindo County newly came into being. And the map of the country was redrawn with the reclamation of Kangryong and Unryul tidelands in South Hwanghae Province, Kumsong Tideland in South Phyongan Province and others.
Several islets in the west sea were linked by tens of kilometers-long bank with the completion of reclaiming the Taegyedo Tideland in June 2010. It straightened the rugged coastline of two counties, drastically decreasing its length. Farms, salterns and fish farms appeared in 8 800 hectares of tideland and a long ring-shaped road was paved from Yomju County to Cholsan County.
In recent years, with the reclamation of Ansok Tideland, Honggondo Tideland and the third and fourth districts of Ryongmaedo Tideland, another solid foundation was provided to contribute to the agricultural development of the country and the improvement of people's living. -0-
