The Academy of Defence Science of the DPRK made a test fire for updating the long-distance cruise missile system and a test fire for confirming the might of conventional warhead of the ground-to-ground tactical guided missile respectively on January 25 and 27.
The tests of the important weapons were guided on the spot by officials of the Munitions Industry Department of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and leading officials of the Academy of Defence Science.

The launched two long-distance cruise missiles made a flight for 9,137 seconds along the set flight orbit on the East Sea of Korea and hit the target island 1,800 kilometres away.
The practical combat performance of the long-distance cruise missile system will bear a part in strengthening the war deterrent of the country.

The launched two tactical guided missiles precisely hit the target island and it was confirmed that the explosive power of the conventional warhead meets the demand of its design.

The results of the successful test fires of the weapon systems were reported to the Party Central Committee and they were highly appreciated.
