Pyongyang, February 9 (KCNA) -- The 2nd great workshop for officials in the field of construction began with due ceremony in Pyongyang.

The workshop under the theme of "The rapid development of the Juche-oriented architecture and period of great prosperity in construction" serves as an important occasion of grasping the immortal exploits performed by our Party for the development of the Juche-oriented architecture, analyzing and reviewing the success, experience, mistake and lesson after the 1st great workshop for officials in the field of construction and finding the ways for brining about another leap forward in the field of construction.

The workshop is to deal with theoretical and practical matters arising in kindling the flames of new construction revolution in line with the Party's Juche-oriented idea on construction and its construction policy.

Attending the workshop were officials in the fields of architecture design, construction, building-materials production, construction supervision, land and environment protection and urban management in Pyongyang, local areas and armed forces field, officials of construction science research and education organs and leading Party and administrative officials of the Cabinet, ministries and national institutions.

The 2nd great workshop for officials in the field of construction was opened on February 8.

The platform of the workshop was taken by Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and premier of the Cabinet.

Among those on the platform were O Su Yong, secretary of the C.C., WPK, Pak Jong Gun, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the State Planning Commission, Pak Hun, vice-premier of the Cabinet, chairpersons of the provincial people's committees, leading officials of the ministries and national institutions, officials of the armed forces organs and persons of merits who performed feats in the construction of important projects.

As the workshop was declared open, the national anthem of the DPRK was played solemnly.

O Su Yong read out the letter "Let us lead the development of the socialist civilization with the fresh construction revolution" sent by Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, to the participants in the 2nd great workshop for officials in the field of construction.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in his letter warmly encouraged the officials in the field of construction who participated in the workshop with high enthusiasm to display the development and might of the Juche-oriented architecture put on a higher stage in the struggle of ushering in a period of a new upsurge and overall development in the socialist construction, and all the builders and service personnel across the country who are creating a myth of construction in the era of the Workers' Party while demonstrating the might and mettle of our state in the worksites of great construction towards a highly civilized and prosperous nation, true to the call of the Party.

Saying that it is the success to be reviewed with special pride that the work of sprucing up Samjiyon City was victoriously concluded as a gift of loyalty to the 80th birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il , he extended thanks to all the people, builders and service personnel across the country who had dedicated their efforts and wisdom and rendered sincere material and moral assistance to the work of sprucing up Samjiyon City.

He stressed the importance of the position and role of the field of construction in the current struggle for bringing about a new victory in the socialist construction and clarified the grand plan for giving further momentum to the construction revolution and illuminated the main orientation and demand to be maintained in the work of construction and tasks and practical ways for making a signal development in the construction.

Then, a meeting of reviewing the work in the field of construction was held.

Kim Tok Hun in a report stressed the intention of the Party attaching great significance to the workshop in making innovation and leap forward once again in the field of construction to display the latent power and development potential of our state and ushering in a new phase of creating the socialist civilization.

He said that Kim Jong Un gave priority to construction as an important political work for enhancing the overall might of the country, instilling conviction into the people and leading the socialist civilization and made sure that a campaign for bringing about a radical turn in the work of construction was organized and launched.

He said that the idea and theory set forth by the General Secretary including the idea of properly combining the Juche character with national identity and modernity while regarding the people-first principle as the immutable ideal and the idea of carrying out the rural construction as an important strategic task are the important guidelines correctly reflecting the desire of our people and demand of the times.

He referred to the proud successes which demonstrated the might and rapid development of Korean-style socialism in the work of construction after the 1st great workshop for officials in the field of construction.

A series of mistakes made in the field of construction were analyzed and reviewed.

He called upon all the officials and workers in the field of construction to make a positive contribution to enhancing the might of the country and pushing ahead with the building of the socialist civilization, upholding the Party's idea on construction and its policy with devoted practices.
