Pyongyang, February 12 (KCNA) -- There was a technical course for the participants in the 2nd grand workshop for officials in the construction sector on Thursday and Friday.

The technical course dealt with the practical issues arising in deeply grasping the essence of the important letter sent by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and carrying through the militant tasks set forth for the construction field.

It focused on enshrining the intention of the Party Central Committee to lead the overall development of socialist construction with innovative changes in the construction sector and correctly understanding the basic direction, major requirement, detailed tasks and practical ways to be maintained in the construction.

Its lecturers included O Su Yong, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kang Kwon Il, general director of the State General Bureau of Design, Ju Yong, vice-minister of Electric Power Industry, and Jo Sok Ho, chairman of the Capital City Construction Commission.

They referred to the great leadership feats of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un who ushered in a great golden age of construction for the people's happiness and has brought about remarkable changes on this land with his distinguished idea and theory and energetic leadership.

They said that the respected General Secretary further developed the Party's Juche-oriented idea on architecture to lay an ideo-theoretical groundwork for invariably maintaining the nature of the Juche architecture.

The course made special mention of how to drastically enhance the quality of architectural designs by embodying the Party's idea on Juche-based architecture and its construction policy.

Stressed in the course were the issues of tapping the hydroelectric resources to the maximum to ease the power strain, actively introducing labor- and material-saving construction methods and improving the control over quality in construction.

The course also called for sprucing up cities through revolution in afforestation and greening and face-lifting the appearance of local areas by unconditionally implementing the Party's policy on rural construction.

There was a video show dealing with the original architectural composition of monumental edifices wonderfully built under the wise guidance of the Party and their rational interior structures, domestic production of finishing building materials and advanced afforestation and greening technology.

During the course, its participants exchanged broad views on the matters of mutual concern and practical issues they acquired in the course and deepened their study to find clear goal and ways for effecting a drastic change in construction. -0-
