The respected Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, gave field guidance to the National Aerospace Development Administration.

He was accompanied by leading officials of the Central Committee of the WPK.

Kim Jong Un learned himself in detail from the leading officials of the NADA about the scientific research and development for attaining the goal of space science and technology for national defense presented at the Eighth Congress and the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK.

He learned the development and preparation of data transmission and reception communication devices including the optical cameras and image transmitter and different kinds of sensor devices to be loaded on satellite and heard the report on major test results recently carried out by the NADA.

He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the aerospace photographing method, the operational specification of HD cameras and reliability of image data transmission system were proved through the major tests carried out recently.

Looking at the vertical and inclined HD images of the test shot of specific areas on land through major tests, he highly appreciated the successes achieved by the NADA in recent period including image composition processing technology, massive data communication processing capacity, accuracy of controlling command system and communication encoding technology, true to the Party's policy on space development

He stressed that the proportion of development of reconnaissance satellite is very important in attaining the five major goals for the development of national defense capabilities put forward by the Eighth Party Congress. He clarified once again the strategic significance of the reconnaissance satellite in improving the war deterrent and boosting the preparedness of the state against war.

He said:

Development of reconnaissance satellite is not just a scientific research work and development of means for collecting reconnaissance information but the safeguarding of independent rights and national interests, legitimate exercise of the right of self-defense and at the same time the enhancement of national prestige. It is an urgent work to perfect the preparedness against war of the country by improving war deterrent of the state, the politico-military task which brooks no delay and supreme revolutionary task which the Party and government of the DPRK regard as the most important affair.

He stressed that officials, scientists and technicians in the field of space and defense science research must wonderfully carry out the reconnaissance satellite development of Korean-style within the period set by the Party Central Committee in close unity and cooperation, true to the Party's policy on space and defense development.

He familiarized himself with the construction of the space science institute and the space environmental test base.

Noting that it is mostly important to consolidate the material and technical foundation of space science research sector in order to hit the high scientific and technological goal of space development set by the state, he stressed the need to strengthen the state assistance and examine important measures so that the space science research field constantly strengthens and develops itself.

He said it is the strategic and tactical policy of the Party concerning the strengthening of the defense capability to strictly watch and distinguish the hostile military actions against the DPRK committed by the US imperialist aggression army and its followers in and around the Korean peninsula, enhance the situation management ability and improve the the rapid responding ability of the state armed forces according to the situation. To this end, he presented the militant goal for the development and operation of reconnaissance satellite to be hit during the five-year plan.

He said the purpose of the development and operation of military reconnaissance satellite is to render to the armed fores of the DPRK the real-time information of military actions of the US imperialist aggression army and its vassal forces in the areas of south Korea, Japan and the Pacific. He said the Party Central Committee fully supports the determination of the National Aerospace Development Administration to multilaterally deploy many military reconnaissance satellites in the solar synchronous polar orbit and firmly ensure the reconnaissance information collecting ability by satellite.

Kim Jong Un expressed the firm belief that the space and defense science research field would fully demonstrate the heroic stamina of the defense scientists intensely loyal to the Party and revolution with their devoted efforts in their scientific research struggle for implementing the strategic purpose of the Party Central Committee.
