Overtake Others at a Single Leap Forward

In May Juche 101(2012), the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un inspected the Central Zoo and was informed in detail of the prospective plans of the zoo by its officials. Then he said that the zoo could be arranged in a more interesting way without expanding it in area. We must transfigure the Central Zoo in splendor and thus provide the people with another world-class base for cultural and emotional life, he noted.

Making rounds of the zoo, he pointed out the parts where they failed to combine maximum practicality and profitability in the minimum area of plot. Then he told them about the global trend of zoo construction and taught the ways and methods to remodel the zoo.

That day, he gave precious instructions to a relevant official in the designing field about remodeling the zoo nicely and said that we must overtake others at a single leap forward.

These words are pregnant with the determination and will of the respected General Secretary who is anxious to let our people enjoy happiness without envying others as soon as possible.

To Be a Model of Modern Civilization

In February Juche 104(2015), the respected General Secretary inspected Mirae Scientists Street under construction.

He visited the construction site after having a bird’s eye view of the street by air and grasping actuality that the street was not deep enough a day before.

Looking round the site, he said that only when the first-stage construction was followed by the second-stage one, could the depth of the street be ensured and the buildings of the first stage pay off. Then he continued that he was going to let the relevant officials in the construction headquarters and designing field have a view of the construction site by airplane. By doing so, the officials could feel proud of being masters of construction of monumental edifices and estimate the shortcomings of the first-stage construction while planning about the second-stage construction, he added.

That day, he stressed that, as Mirae Scientists Street was what the Party engaged itself in with determination, it had to be built as a model street of modern civilization.

Indeed, Mirae Scientists Street is the fruit of energetic guidance of the respected General Secretary who led the construction elaborately.

A Precious Seed

In March several years ago, the respected General Secretary inspected the Pyongyang Old People’s Home under construction.

Touring the construction site with officials, he asked all of a sudden which unit designed the old people’s home.

A designer who took part in the designing of the old people’s home answered his question. The respected General Secretary praised that the relevant designing institute did quite a good job.

He said that, in the future, appreciations must be made by considering which unit and who created the prizewinning miniature when summing up the work of designing establishments and designers. He continued that this could encourage an emulation among designing institutions and designers and promote the creation of excellent miniatures.

His unforgettable teaching served as a precious seed which enabled an epochal development in the country’s designing field.
