Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), met the commanding officers of the Korean People's Army (KPA), who successfully directed the military parade and other events commemorating the 90th founding anniversary of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA), at the office building of the WPK Central Committee to encourage them.

Present on the occasion were Pak Jong Chon, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK and secretary of the WPK Central Committee, and Minister Ri Yong Gil and other leading officials of the Ministry of National Defence and commanders of the services and the corps of the KPA.

They were filled with boundless gratitude towards the respected Supreme Commander who bestows all laurels upon his soldiers, although he made the grand military parade of April a striking demonstration of the absolute strength and military technological superiority of the armed forces of our Republic capable of defeating any formidable enemy in the world and a revolutionary event giving redoubled faith in sure victory to all the people in the country.

Kim Jong Un warmly shook the hands of the army commanding officers offering a salute of loyalty and highly praised their contributions to celebrating the 90th anniversary of the KPRA, a significant and glorious event in the history of the Korean revolution and the nation, with a magnificent military parade.

Noting the first step taken by our revolutionary armed forces with two pistols has led to the dignified advance of the matchless revolutionary army of the Party never to be found in other parts of the world, and the Mauser shot heard in the forests of Antu has been amplified by the deafening firing sound of the Hwasongpho to humble the hostile forces bragging about their military edge, he said that such world-startling brilliant reality is a glorious history of victory of the armed forces of our Republic that will be engraved in golden letters in the history of the country.

He said that in the present world, where a force clashes with another fiercely and one can preserve one's dignity, rights and interests only when one gets stronger, the tremendous offensive power, the overwhelming military muscle that no force in the world can provoke, is the lifeline guaranteeing the security of our country and people and the future of posterity.

Expressing the Party Central Committee's firm will to surely maintain the absolute superiority of our revolutionary armed forces and constantly develop it to preemptively and thoroughly contain and frustrate all dangerous attempts and threatening moves, including ever-escalating nuclear threats from hostile forces, if necessary, he stressed the need for the commanding officers to boldly open up a new stage of development of the revolutionary armed forces, steadfastly adhering to the army-building orientation and general line of the Party.

Then, he had a meaningful photo taken with the commanding officers of the revolutionary armed forces, expressing his expectations and belief that they would put their heart and soul, wisdom and passion entirely into the sacred cause for bolstering up the self-defence capabilities of our great state in every way with confidence in sure victory, not forgetting even a moment their noble duty for the country, the revolution and the people.

The commanding officers, who received his special trust and benevolence again, extended the highest glory to the ever-victorious iron-willed commander who ushers in a new period of strengthening the national defence capabilities, developing our revolutionary armed forces that inherited the glorious traditions of the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners into the strongest army in the world.

All the participants hardened their resolve to strive with redoubled courage to further consolidate the matchless military muscle that no one dares provoke, true to the great Party Central Committee's idea and line on building the revolutionary armed forces, and thus defend the Party and revolution impregnably and steadily display the dignity and might of the DPRK, our powerful country.
