Pyongyang, May 14 (KCNA) -- The Ministry of Public Health is taking strict measures true to the idea of the 8th Political Bureau Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea on switching over from the state epidemic prevention work to the maximum emergency epidemic prevention system.
The ministry held an urgent consultative meeting and scrupulously organized the work for curbing and controlling the spread of the epidemic in the country and curing those with fever as soon as possible so as to eliminate the source of the spread at an early date.
The consultative meeting discussed the issue for putting survey, examination and treatment of fevered persons on a scientific basis, the issue for the medical workers to wage treatment campaign with high responsibility and devotion and the issue of fully supplying necessary medicines.
As the provinces, cities and counties of the whole country are locked down and each working unit, production unit and living unit are closed, the ministry dispatched officials to Pyongyang City and provinces to take timely measures for solving all the problems arising in supplement of medicines, treatment, etc.
The ministry pushes ahead with the work for grasping the amount of medicines needed and increasing the production of the medicines as well as providing conditions for transport of medical supplies while swiftly supplying reserved medicines to the curative and preventive organs and pharmacies.
Pharmacies are newly installed in relevant regions and inhabitants and fevered persons are fully provided with medical supplies according to the prescription of doctors.
The ministry has mobilized all medical officials in the field of public health, teachers, postgraduate students and students of medical universities in the country in the intensive examination of all the people to find out fevered persons and treat them immediately and scientifically. -0-
