Pyongyang, May 15 (KCNA) -- North Phyongan Province of the DPRK has rendered great assistance to the field of railway transport.
Officials and working people in the province have contributed to improving the safety of the railway while securing more than 16 300 cubic meters of ballast, improving roadbed extending hundreds of kilometers, repairing the retaining wall extending thousands of cubic meters and producing a lot of materials supporting a railway track.
Sinuiju City has sent to workers in the field of railway transport a lot of materials needed in the production of concrete sleepers and tens of thousands of products of at least ten kinds which support a railway track.
Unjon County graveled the railway section extending more than twenty kilometers and spruced up the area around the railway track by planting thousands of trees.
Sonchon and Kwaksan counties had remedied several imperfect railway sections in time and improved the safety of roadbed.
Cholsan, Sakju, Jongju and Tongrim counties have managed the railway while repairing revetment and digging ditches.
Different units have contributed to cementing the material and technological foundation of the railway transport by rendering material and moral assistance to it. -0-
