True to General Secretary Kim Jong Un’s order, combatants in the medical sector of the Korean People’s Army have been expanding success in the supply of medicines to Pyongyang citizens since they were dispatched to pharmacies in the city.

The KPA unit led by Choe Chol Su prepared and sent to its medical workers deployed in districts and counties over 35 000 medicine packets, 10 000 copies of a pamphlet dealing with scores of effective folk remedies and 1 000 service registers.

Another KPA unit led by Choe Kil Sop sent over 10 000 medicine packets to relevant posts in its charge.

Meanwhile, the combatants in the medical sector of the KPA keep displaying the trait of volunteering to do good things for the sake of the people.

One of them, who is posted at a pharmacy on Ryomyong Street, has done the supply of medicines to over ten neighbourhood units in Taesong District in such a way that the residents feel no inconvenience in receiving the medicines. Another, who is in charge of a medicine stand in Tongmun-dong No. 2, Taedonggang District, bought various medicines with his own money and sent them to the families of heroes and meritorious people living in the dong.

And another combatant at a pharmacy in Janggyong-dong No. 2, Sosong District, distributed to local residents lots of pieces of paper with the pharmacy’s phone number written on them and thus delivered medicines to their houses as the latter informed him of their addresses and the medicines they needed by phone.

The one at the Unha branch pharmacy in Ryongsong District volunteered to go to neighbourhood units in a residential area to learn about the conditions of patients there and treat them after hearing that the doctor in charge of the area was sick.

Those at the direct-sale pharmacy of the Songyo Koryo Medicine Pharmaceutical Factory visited a family living in Mujin-dong No. 2, Songyo District, to give medicines to a student of the family who was sick with a high fever and take necessary measures to treat the patient and visited other families in the dong to supply patients with medicines in advance.

Moved by the combatants’ deeds, a woman living in Sanop-dong No. 2 in the same district expressed her impression, saying that she had been quite worried that all her family members were sick and that then KPA soldiers visited her family to give them medicines, encouraging them. She was really grateful to the soldiers, she added.

Another woman who went to Turu branch pharmacy No. 1 at about 01:00 am on May 17 said she felt secure to see combatants from the KPA medical sector engrossed in providing medicines even in the middle of night, and a resident in Mirim-dong, Sadong District, saw an army truck fully loaded with medicines arriving at the Mirim branch pharmacy and said, “I feel as if I had recovered from the illness at the sight of the piles of medicines.”

Now Pyongyang citizens say in unison that soldiers are really unusual, seeing them always welcoming customers with a smile while keeping not only the surroundings of pharmacies but also other places clean and hygienic.
