Pyongyang, May 22 (KCNA) -- Ten days and ten nights have passed since the maximum emergency epidemic prevention system was set in motion in the DPRK to cope with the current health crisis.

The entire Party, the whole country and all the people turned out to step up the economic construction without let-up even under the condition of unprecedented blockade and isolation, in response to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un 's ardent call for safeguarding our precious life and future by dint of our faith, will and unity by victoriously concluding the anti-epidemic war with firm confidence and redoubled great efforts.

All the economic sectors and units in the country launched an offensive drive to win victory both in the epidemic prevention campaign and the implementation of the national economic plan for this year, true to the idea and spirit of the meeting and consultative meetings of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee.

Detailed plans were worked out and strong action measures taken to accelerate the production and construction uninterruptedly.

Officials of the state economic guidance organs have taken the lead in the economic construction to lay a solid foundation for the implementation of the five-year plan.

Workers in the metallurgical industrial sector are making innovations and feats in the production. Those of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex have over-fulfilled their plan for the production of pig iron and steel for the last ten days. A more vigorous struggle for increased production was staged at metallurgical bases in different parts of the country, and the workers of Unryul, Jaeryong and other mines in charge of the supply of iron ore have pushed ahead with the production as scheduled.

Signal progress has been made in the chemical industrial sector.

The February 8 Vinalon Complex and the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex stepped up the production of such chemical goods as caustic soda and vinyl chloride as planned, increasing the nitrogenous fertilizer production by 105 percent.

Workers of power stations and plants across the country have additionally turned out electricity of millions of kWh more than before.

Hydro-power stations carried out their daily production plans and thermal power plants considerably raised their daily production results by positively introducing the sci-tech achievements. As a result, the power production plan for the last ten days was over-fulfilled throughout the Ministry of Electric Power Industry.

Admirable achievements are also reported from the coal industrial sector.

The Pukchang Area Youth Coal-Mining Complex and the Kujang Area Coal-Mining Complex respectively produced hundreds of tons of more coal for ten days. The coal mines in Kaechon and Anju areas showed higher results in capital and preparatory tunnelings than the planned, while hundreds of spare cutting faces were secured throughout the Ministry of Coal Industry.

The Ministry of Railways and all railway bureaus and their branches have carried out the plan for major freight transport of the ministry by exerting primary efforts to accident-free running of intensive transport trains.

In the machine-building industrial sector, workers of the Pyongyang Electric Cable General Factory 326 carried on the production of various kinds of electric cables as scheduled while those of the Kusong Machine Tool Factory, Pyongyang and Ryangchaek bearing factories and the Anju Pump Factory brought about innovations in planned production of equipment and accessories.

The flame of collective innovation in the key industrial sectors has spread to all other economic sectors such as agriculture, construction, building-materials industry and light industry.

Amid the enthusiasm to uphold the Party and defend the revolution with increased grain production growing higher among the agricultural workers in the country, those in South Hwanghae Province have propelled all the farming processes as scheduled. They have transplanted rice seedlings in thousands of hectares of fields every day.

Passing-on-technique and demonstration lectures on breeding of young rice-plants and rice-planting were organized and advanced farming methods positively introduced.

Major construction projects have been accelerated at fast tempo.

The framework for the construction of 10 000 flats in Hwasong area is nearing completion, during which a new Hwasong myth was created.

The construction of the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm has been sped up thanks to loyalty and patriotism of the solider-builders.

The Sangwon Cement Complex carried out its ten-day production plan by 110.2 percent and similar success was reported from the Sunchon Cement Complex and the Chonnaeri Cement Factory.

The Taean Friendship Glass Factory, the Pyongyang Foam Prefab Factory, the Hamhung Wood Processing Factory and other factories have carried out their daily production plans.

The workers in the light industrial sector are effecting an upswing in production, encouraged by Kim Jong Un 's noble love of for the people.

The Ryuwon Footwear Factory has registered production result of 105 percent on a daily average, and the Ryongsong Disabled Soldiers' Injection-molded Boot Factory is making a breakthrough in carrying out its monthly plan.

Many factories in the local industrial sector have carried on their production without let-up in reliance on their own technology and domestic raw materials.

The production plan for May was carried out at 110 percent throughout the Salt Industry Bureau.
