Pyongyang, May 24 (KCNA) -- Now underway in all sectors of the anti-epidemic front of the DPRK, where the preemptive and scientific emergency anti-epidemic policies and important measures of the Workers' Party of Korea and the state are being carried into practice invariably, is the work for continuously maintaining the stable situation and accelerating its favorable development.

In a few days after the maximum emergency epidemic prevention system was activated, the nation-wide morbidity and mortality rates have drastically decreased and the number of recovered persons increased, resulting in effectively curbing and controlling the spread of the pandemic disease and maintaining the clearly stable situation.

Party organizations at all levels and leading officials display their remarkable organizing ability, drive and working manner.

Such revolutionary traits as strictly reviewing the anti-epidemic work of the regions, sectors and units under their charge in all categories every day and finding and tackling the shortcomings and flaws have been firmly established.

The State Emergency Epidemic Prevention Headquarters and the Cabinet, on the basis of scientifically analyzing the overall anti-epidemic situation of the country in the light of the decisions of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee, spearhead operations and take detailed practical measures to sensitively respond to any surprising emergency situation; comprehensively revising and supplementing the action rules of each sector for the multi-faceted work for tracking down the cause of infection and bolstering the state capabilities for coping with crisis, and boosting the production capacity of the pharmaceutical industry and working out a future plan.

Efforts are concentrated on studying and establishing a perfect emergency anti-epidemic system after making a stern analysis and summing-up of the deviations manifested right after the outbreak of persons with fever.

Underway in the public health field and scientific research institutes is the reinvestigation for getting in further detail from fevered and recovered persons in different parts of the country such epidemiological and clinical features of the pandemic disease as latent period, clinical symptoms, recurrence rate, reaction to medicines, severity rate and progress period.

They also come up with more new methods of step-by-step treatment, which are classified according to different ages, occupations, constitutions and chronic diseases of patients, while stepping up the development and production of test reagents and treatment medicines.

Given that one million and hundreds of thousands of medical workers, teachers and students of the institutions for training medical workers and sanitary workers have been mobilized into medical treatment, check-ups and disinfection and some 10 000 mobile service teams are active across the country, special attention is paid to taking thoroughgoing preventive measures for ensuring their safety.

An information service through media and educational networks gets more intensive to inform the citizens of the current situation of the global health crisis, dangerous newly emerging virus variants and knowledge for preventing them, hygiene know-how, effective drugs and methods of using them, treatment experiences, etc. to help them be active in the anti-epidemic campaign with fair anti-epidemic literacy and ability.

The army medics of the Party Central Committee, who took their positions at the pharmacies in the capital city, are steering the emergency anti-epidemic campaign. While ensuring the supply of medicines on the basis of detailed information about residential areas, households and individuals, given the current situation of the anti-epidemic campaign, they inform not only the visitors to the pharmacies but also the patients under home treatment of the folk remedies and Koryo medical treatment methods for aftereffects of the disease.

A large quantity of fresh vegetables and subsidiary foods are carried and sold to citizens every day in Pyongyang City amid the ceaseless work for ensuring the smooth supply of foodstuffs, condiments and fuel to carry out the major political task - ensuring the people's living conditions.

The people across the country are striving to devotedly implement the Party policies in the anti-epidemic work as well as the socialist construction theaters, while fully displaying the virtues and beautiful traits peculiar to Korean society, whereby they share feelings and affections each other in difficult situation.
