Economy grows under emergency anti-epidemic system

Over the past ten days under the top emergency anti-epidemic system, careful and minute plans have been worked out to keep production and construction going steadily and strong measures taken to implement them in all workplaces across the country though they were locked down and isolated according to regions and units.

The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex overfulfilled its plan for the production of pig iron and steel.

The Posan Iron Works produced 1.1 times more iron than before and other metallurgical industry bases in all parts of the country also worked hard to increase production.

The February 8 Vinalon Complex and Hungnam Fertilizer Complex increased the nitrogen fertilizer production by 5 percent.

Electricity producers throughout the country generated millions of kWh of more electric power than before.

The Pukchang area youth and Kujang area coal-mining complexes produced hundreds of tons of more coal respectively in the past ten days.

The Ministry of Railways carried out the major freight transportation plan.

The Pyongyang General Electric Cable Factory 326, the Kusong Machine Tool Factory and other producers in the field of the machine-building industry hit their production targets for equipment and parts.

Rice-transplanting is in full swing on cooperative farms across the country.

The Sangwon Cement Complex exceeded the cement production target for ten days by 10.2 percent and the Taean Friendship Glass Factory, the Hamhung Wood Processing Factory and other building materials production units fulfilled their daily and weekly plans.

The Ryuwon Footwear Factory carried out its daily production plan at 105 percent on average and other light industry factories hit their production targets by focusing on the recycling of raw and other materials and scientific and technical development.
