Russia took the measure of prohibiting members of the House of Lords from entering the country.
The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on May 24, which said that Russia would enforce specific restrictions on 154 members of the House of Lords on the principle of reciprocity in reaction to the decision of the British government on including almost all members of the Russian Federation Council in their sanctions list last March and that it would go on with the expansion of the scale of its sanctions list.
Saying that the relevant personages are prohibited from entering Russia from that moment, the statement noted that they directly contributed to mapping out London’s anti-Russia sanctions geared to isolating the country politically and disrupting its economy, abused their official authority to whip up anti-Russian hysteria in the UK and incited the anti-Russian political line of the British conservative authorities.
