The Third Enlarged Meeting of the Eighth Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea was convened on June 21.
The respected Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, was present at the meeting.
Present there were members of the Central Military Commission of the WPK. Also on hand as observers are officials of the departments concerned of the Party Central Committee, members of the Executive Committee of the Korean People's Army Committee of the WPK, leading personnel of the Ministry of National Defence and military and political commanders of the large combined units of the KPA.
Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the WPK and Chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK, presided over the meeting.
The meeting will analyze and review the work system, order and real situation of the Party Central Military Commission and the provincial, city and county Party military commissions, discuss the major tasks to further enhance the function and role of the military commissions at all levels, sum up the overall work of national defence in the first half of the year 2022, confirm the vital and immediate tasks for defence upbuilding and bring up some issues on thoroughly implementing the military line and major defence policies of the Party for discussion as agenda items.
It will also review the military and political activities of the Ministry of National Defence, the General Staff, the Korean People's Army Committee of the WPK, the commanders, staffs and political departments of the units of the KPA at all levels and Party organizations of the armed forces organs and adopt crucial strategic and tactical tasks facing the KPA.
The Central Military Commission of the WPK started to discuss the agenda items presented.
