Pyongyang, June 23 (KCNA) -- A celebration meeting and a seminar took place in Russia on June 15 to mark the 58th anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il 's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).
Speeches were made at the events, attended by personages of different political parties and organizations and other people in Russia.
The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Workers' Party of Russia and other members of the party leadership said at the meeting that it would have been unthinkable without Comrade Kim Jong Il 's exploits that the WPK had consolidated its status as a leading political organization and demonstrated its invincible might for the past decades.
They noted that Kim Jong Il developed the WPK into the party of the leader both in name and reality, the powerful party guiding the socialist cause to victory, and firmly consolidated the unity and cohesion of the entire Party centered on the leader.
They stressed that under his leadership the WPK had strengthened into the party that forms a harmonious whole with the popular masses and faithfully serves them.
The chairman of the Rostov Association for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, the chairman of the Russian Association for the Study of the Juche Idea, and the chairperson of the Altai Association for the Study of the Juche Idea said at the seminar that Kim Jong Il 's start of work at the WPK Central Committee, the general staff of the Korean revolution, was a historic event of weighty significance in the development of the WPK.
Noting that he expounded the principled matters to be maintained in the party building and activities through numbers of his classic works and developed the WPK into a guiding force of the Korean society, they praised him as a prominent statesman who devoted his all to the country's prosperity and the people's wellbeing. -0-
