Pyongyang, June 24 (KCNA) -- As June 25 approaches, the day when an unprecedented terrible disaster brought to Korea's sacred lands, the resentment and hostility against the U.S. imperialists, the sworn enemy who ignited a war of aggression against the DPRK, is soaring in the country.

Workers and trade union members held a meeting to vow revenge at the education place of the Central Class Education House on June 23 on the occasion of June 25, the day of struggle against U.S. imperialism.

Present there were officials of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK) and trade union officials and members and workers in Pyongyang.

Pak In Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the GFTUK, made a report to be followed by speeches at the meeting.

The reporter and speakers denounced that the Korean War ignited by the U.S. imperialists was a war of aggression to nip the young Republic in the bud and make the whole of Korea their colony and realize their wild ambition for world supremacy, and it was the most barbaric war for murder and destruction unprecedented in the world history of wars and in human history.

They stressed that the U.S. imperialists mobilized all the armed forces of its satellite countries and the latest combat and technical equipment but could never bring to their knees the Korean people who rose up as one in the struggle to defend the country.

They said that under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung , an ever-victorious iron-willed commander, the Korean people and the Korean People's Army defeated the U.S. imperialists who boasted of being "the strongest in the world", in the fierce Fatherland Liberation War, which could be called the confrontation between rifles and atomic bombs, for the first time in history, and defended the sovereignty of the nation and the dignity of the country with honor.

During nearly seven decades since fireworks for victory in the war were displayed, there has never been a time when the dark clouds of aggression and war did not hang over Korea due to the U.S. invariable hostile policy toward the DPRK and wild ambitions to stifle it, they noted.

The aggressive nature of U.S. imperialism remains unchangeable and, to this end, we should settle account with the aggressors by arms and till the last and we should consolidate the strongest war deterrent without restriction until no formidable enemy can underestimate the DPRK and all roots of war disappears -- this a historic lesson given by the June 25 war, they said.

The reporter and speakers stressed that if the U.S. imperialists ignite another war on this land, oblivious of the history of their disgraceful defeat, the Korean people will give full play to thousand-fold revenge and mercilessly smash all the aggressors.

Prior to the meeting, the participants looked round the Central Class Education House. -0-
