Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, inspected different sectors of South Hwanghae Province.

Visiting the Honghyon Cooperative Farm in Paechon County, the Township Cooperative Farm in Yonan County, the Chongjong Cooperative Farm in Chongdan County, the Paeksok Cooperative Farm in Sinchon County, etc., he called on their officials to scrupulously map out plans and conduct direction for fulfillment of the farming processes, mindful of the intention of the Party Central Committee attaching importance to the farming in South Hwanghae Province in the agricultural development of the country.

He stressed the need for the cooperative farms to put manuring and tending of paddy rice on a sci-tech basis, concentrate manpower on weeding, positively produce slow-action granulated fertilizer by their own efforts and take pre-emptive measures for preventing flood damage during the rainy season so as to attain this year's grain production goal without fail.

Learning in detail about the production, supply and sale of medicines in different areas including Haeju City and Pyoksong, Paechon, Yonan and Chongdan counties, he called for thoroughly implementing the emergency epidemic prevention policies and measures of the state and intensifying the anti-epidemic campaign for preventing the outbreak and spread of all kinds of diseases like the acute enteric epidemic in order to protect the people's lives and safety.

Acquainting himself with the actual conditions of industrial establishments in the province, he called for decisively improving the quality of their products by pushing ahead with expansion of their production capacities and modernization of their production processes with priority given to meeting the people's demands in their life so as to make tangible contributions to the improvement of people's living standard.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issue of giving full play to the officials' organizing and executive ability in the struggle for implementing the decisions of the 5th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee and materializing the new socialist rural construction programme, the issue of meeting the demands for fertilizer in the agricultural sector, and the issue of improving urban management and public health service as required by the current anti-epidemic situation to protect the people's lives and health and provide them with cultured living conditions, etc., and took relevant measures.
