Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- Sylvere Boswa Isekombe, general secretary of the Communist Party of Democratic Congo, issued a statement under the title "The Workers' Party of Korea serving the people" on June 19 to mark the 58th anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il 's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).
Noting that Leader Kim Jong Il devoted himself to developing the WPK into a genuine people's party serving the people, the statement said:
He wisely led the work for improving the people's standard of living, regarding it as the overriding principle of the Party's activities.
He indicated the detailed orientation and way for agricultural development and made sure that land realignment was carried out in a big way when the country suffered hardships.
Thanks to his energetic leadership, great successes were made in the work for improving the people's standard of living, including animal husbandry, pomiculture and fisheries.
He also paid deep attention to the work for providing the people with better cultural and leisure facilities.
He led all the officials to become faithful servants of the people.
The WPK's history of love for the people is given steady continuity by General Secretary Kim Jong Un . -0-
