Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- Officials in different parts of the DPRK are taking emergency measures to protect lives and health of the people from natural disasters.
Under the unified guidance of the State Emergency Disaster Committee, each sector and region strive to ensure the promptness of control and guidance, paying attention to the stabilization of the residents' living and the promotion of their health.
With responsibility for their sectors, regions and units, the officials have established monitoring, information, evacuation and emergency mobilization systems.
The central emergency anti-epidemic sector urges the strict disinfection of refuge places under the maximum emergency anti-epidemic system to prevent the outbreak of enteric epidemic.
More than 40 mobile treatment teams organized at provincial people's hospitals, children's hospitals and maternity hospitals, hundreds of emergency medical teams in cities and counties and thousands of medical teams at lowest-level curative and preventive units deployed mobile treatment posts at refuge places, taking measures to ensure the supply of medical equipment and medicines for rapid treatment.
While preparing different kinds of disinfectants for affected regions, they push ahead with the work to block any space of the malignant virus spread with mobilization of medical and hygienic workers and ambulances. -0-
