There is a national flag of the Republic which was fluttered on Kachil Peak near the Hill 1211 during the last Fatherland Liberation War.
It reminds us fierce battles as it has over 270 marks of bullets and splinters.
However it doesn’t show the furiousness of battles only.
It conveys something which had been kept deep in hearts of warriors who let the national flag of the republic flutter in every hard-fought battle site in the war.
As the fatherland was more precious than their lives, warriors of the Korean People’s Army (KPA) dyed the national flag with their blood rather than taking down and they unhesitatingly blocked the enemy’s pillboxes with their breasts and blasted up enemy tanks at the cost of their lives.
Although the gunfire of the war has stopped, the national flag is flying powerfully in our minds.
As the heroes in the wartime devoted their lives to the fatherland flying high the national flag, countless sons and daughters on this land today adorn their lives as heroes and performers of miracles and feats solemnly revering the national flag.
Indeed, the national flag of the Republic flew on the Kachil Peak teaches the rising generations how to defend the fatherland and fight for the country.
