Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- Symposiums were held through videoconferencing in the country in recent years, under the sponsorship of various associations and societies affiliated to the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea. The symposiums dealt with the realistic and reasonable ways to greatly help develop the country's economy and improve the people's standard of living. Lots of sci-tech proposals selected at those meetings have been actively carried into practice. The agricultural sector scientifically and technologically promoted the work to expand the area under the cultivation of dry-field rice, wheat and barley and increase the per-hectare yield. The Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill and other units selected good proposals through symposiums and applied them to production, thus further improving the quality of products. The same is true of other sectors.
