Pyongyang, July 24 (KCNA) -- The 8th National Conference of War Veterans will be held in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, with the great war victory day, the high pride and honor of the dignified state and people, as an occasion.
The Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government decided to convene with splendor again a gathering of participants in the Fatherland Liberation War in reflection of the aspiration and will of all Party members and other working people and the younger generation to express highest glory and deep respects to the revolutionary forerunners who handed down the precious tradition of victory as heritage and to creditably carry forward the spirit of defending the country and the revolution displayed by the generation of war victors.
Those who bravely fought at the front line with arms in their hands during the Fatherland Liberation War are to participate in the 8th National Conference of War Veterans on behalf of the generation of war victors who created the great heroic spirit of the DPRK, the glorious country.
All the war veterans across the country, who created the legendary stories about centuries-old war victory to glorify heroic Korea in the East and made immortal contribution to building the most powerful and solid socialist state, will have the honor of being the conference participants.
The conference will mark a significant occasion in giving redoubled self-respect and invincible faith as descendants of the victors to our people and youth of the new generation, who are braving every challenge and hardship to courageously usher in a new development phase for socialist construction, rallied close around the Party, and in glorifying the precious tradition of July 27, the war victory day, through generations. -0-
