Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- During the Korean War, the U.S. imperialist aggressors destroyed or plundered lots of historical relics and remains showing the time-honored history of the Korean nation and its wisdom and talents.

They totally destroyed six museums in the DPRK, including the then State Central History Museum, and plundered 6 709 pieces of cultural relics and burnt to ashes historical data. Looted or incinerated were such many relics and remains as golden crown dating back to Silla and history and other books, which had been preserved at museums and libraries.

And they destroyed the three tombs in Kangso of Nampho City, a treasure of the Korean nation, and threw grenades and dropped bombs on the Ancient Tomb in Anak of Hwanghae Province.

They destructed Pubyok Pavilion in Pyongyang, Nam Gate in Uiju, Wisong House in Huichon, Tongmyong House in Songchon, Puyong Hall in Haeju, Nam Gate in Kaesong and many other historical relics and sites.

They dropped bombs on the areas around Pohyon Temple of Mt Myohyang to burn to ashes the Taeung Shrine, Manse Pavillion, Myongwol Hall, Suwol Hall, Simgom Hall, Jangso Pavilion and over 1 000 pieces of relics including the complete collection of Koryo Buddhist Scriptures printed with 80 000 wooden blocks.

They also dropped bombs, incendiary bombs and petrol cans on Yongmyong Temple in Moran Hill to completely destroy it.

Sokwang Temple in Anbyon (Kosan County) and Jangan, Phyohun, Yujom and Singye temples in Mt Kumgang were ruined with precious relics in it.

The facts show that the U.S. imperialists are a strangler of human civilization. -0-
