Sincerity Devoted to War Veterans

It was one day ten-odd years ago when Jong Jong Thae living in Oeryong-dong, Kanggye City formed close relations with war veterans Kim Yong Su and Kim Yong Chol in the city.

That day, he keenly felt again how the happiness enjoyed by him was provided while listening to their combat stories during the last Fatherland Liberation War and could not fall asleep at the thought that he would take good care of them.

Since then, Jong has frequented their houses on usual days including national holidays annually to give souvenirs to them and take care of every nook and corner of their life.

He worried much about their health because they were approaching ninety. So, Jong more often visited their houses.

Those facts that Kim Yong Chol, suffering infirmities of age, received various kinds of tonics last spring, and Kim Yong Su was provided with his favorite fresh vegetables, were unthinkable without Jong’s sincerity.

Love of Collective, Best Medicine

Some days ago, Sim Tong Chol, a worker of the repairs shop of the Songchongang Electric Appliances Factory, returned to work a few months after he had been carried to hospital due to unexpected serious injury.

He was too glad to express his feeling when he came back to work in good health.

He thought of the warm love and affection his comrades had devoted to his treatment and recovery, which moved him to tears.

The officials and employees of the factory frequented the hospital to encourage him to get back to work as early as possible.

One official travelled a long way at night to secure good medicines for him and some workers visited him with special appetizing foods.

Thanks to such warm sincerity, his conditions got better and better.

Days passed and he entered the convalescent stage.

However, the devotion of the factory’s officials and employees to him stayed the same.

They visited his house almost every day to take care of every nook and corner of the family life as well as his treatment.

Sim told the officials and employees, who were rejoiced to see him back at work in good condition, from the bottom of his heart that their sincerity and love was the best medicine for him which enabled him to recover so early and return to work.

He made up his mind to exert himself for the prosperity of the country to live up to the love and expectations of the collective and comrades.
