In July ten years ago, the respected General Secretary came to Mansu Hill to have a souvenir photo taken with the exemplary soldiers of the Korean People’s Army who performed labor feats in major construction projects true to the far-reaching plan of the Party.

He had been informed that the soldiers, who had distinguished themselves in the major construction projects under the charge of their units putting off discharge from military service for several years, were to be demobilized soon.

Since then, he had considered a great deal how to award those who had made devoted efforts without wishing for honor or reward.

Then he promised to have a souvenir picture taken with them before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill.

It was the first time for him to have a souvenir photo taken there.

The soldiers at the meridian of glory and happiness had worked at the sweat of their brows night and day in new construction sites without returning to their homeland although they were about to finish military service, saying that they would contribute to finishing on schedule the construction projects assigned to their units.

Some of them had already postponed demobilization for several times.

The officials expressed gratitude to the respected General Secretary in reflection of the warm feelings of the soldiers who were enthusiastically cheering in tears.

Then the respected General Secretary said that it was none other than the exemplary soldiers who were to be thanked and that they were true patriots who had been upholding the Party’s plan for building a powerful country not with words but with blood and sweat of sincerity.

At that moment of glory, they could keenly feel his lofty will of valuing the most those who devote themselves selflessly to the country and people.

They made up their minds to live a worthwhile life as the true patriots wanted by the Party.

One who defends the dignity and honor of being the citizen of the socialist country of Juche at the cost of one’s life is a truly good patriot and one’s life shines forever along with the country.

When he meets a hardworking worker during his field guidance, he holds him by the hand saying that it is the hand of a patriot.
