Kim Il Sung Square reminds us about the 70-odd-year long history of our dignified and great Republic.
It is the place where our people’s all glory, pride, delight and pride are condensed.
It witnessed the parade columns of the powerful elite army proudly passing through it and columns of cheering people marching past it to demonstrate the power of single-hearted unity.
On August 15, Juche 42(1953), a military parade was held at the square to celebrate the victory in the war against the US imperialists, who had boasted of being the "strongest" in the world.
Since then, President Kim Il Sung, on each significant occasion in the days when he wisely led the post-war rehabilitation and construction, socialist revolution and construction, used to take on the platform to congratulate and encourage the people and army who manifested the honor and dignity of victors.
Magnificent celebration events were held at the square in every meaningful and historic day including the birth anniversaries of the great leaders, the founding day of the Workers’ Party of Korea and that of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and Korean People’s Army and so on.
At Kim Il Sung Square, a witness of the great history, 100-year history of Kim Il Sung's nation and Kim Jong Il’s Korea was reviewed with pride.
On April 15, Juche 101(2012), the 100th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung was splendidly celebrated there.
In April, Juche 111(2022), a grand military parade to be specially recorded in the country’s history took place at the square in celebration of the 90th founding anniversary of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army, the first revolutionary armed forces of Juche type.
Today the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un unfolded a bright blueprint for bringing about a great change toward the overall development of socialist construction and is wisely leading the struggle for it.
Thanks to him, our Republic will be glorified forever as an invincible power and a dignified country of people.
At the same time, Kim Il Sung Square will shine forever as the square of honor and victory.
