Recently, foodstuffs from the Taedonggang Kumok instant rice factory under the Chongnyu economic technology company are quite popular with customers.
With polished rice, wheat, red beans and other grains as basic raw materials, the factory produces over 60 varieties of health foods in 18 kinds including instant noodles, processed rice, grain chips, pie and biscuits.
Products of the factory are tasty functional foodstuffs based on grains produced by using organic farming methods and natural raw materials.
They also satisfy the demands of purchasers as they are diverse in kind.
Until a few years ago, the factory turned out merely some 20 food articles in eight kinds including maize noodles and biscuits.
Then it endeavoured to improve the quality of foodstuffs and increase their variety by relying on science and technology. In the course of putting foodstuff-processing technologies on a scientific footing, it introduced into production such advanced technologies as those of processing grain by a dry method and using microwave for drying and sterilization.
Besides, it manufactured and installed high-performance facilities to develop dozens of varieties of tasty and highly nutritious health foods including processed rice based on such domestically produced grains as wheat, mung beans and red beans.
It also completed the technology of processing all kinds of by-products of meat and bone processing and such natural raw materials as pepper, garlic and red pepper and set up a process for producing concentrated bone broth and seasonings to produce seasonings with meat flavour and hot and savoury tastes, thus further improving the flavours of foodstuffs.
It processed strictly sorted flour and natural raw materials without using additives and pigments to raise digestibility of foods and make them preserve their original tastes, fragrances, colours and nutritive substances.
Processed foodstuffs of the factory produce high pharmacological effects as they are rich in all kinds of vitamins and various essential nutrients.
According to experts on nutriology, if such processed foodstuffs are used as staple foods, they can help prevent beriberi, nephritis and goitre. In particular, they are said to be effective in treating diabetes, senile arteriosclerosis, obesity and fatty liver.
In addition, the processed rice can be used to cook rice or gruel easily. Whoever has eaten such foods likes them as they are unusually tasty and quite digestible.
