Lawrence Mayambala,Country Director,Ugandan National Committee for the Study of Juche IdeaIt is remarkably noted that today’s International Seminar on the Juche idea is taking place amid what there now exist not a few serious crises and challenges facing the world but the fundamental danger comes from imperialists and its vassal forces’ high-handed and arbitrary practices that destroy the foundation of international peace and stability.It is considerably recognized that the Juche idea guides that each country and nation needs to firmly maintain the line of independence in all fields such as political, economic and foreign policy etc.If one nation fails to maintain the line of independence the nation can’t get rid of domination and subordination of imperialism and dominationism.To live and develop in the independent way free from all kinds of domination and subordination is the true character of man as the social being and the aspiration of people.Therefore, whether man lives and develops without all kinds of dominations and subordinations or not decisively depends on whether man firmly maintains the line of independence or not.In particular, under the current international situation, to firmly maintain the line of independence is a vital need because imperialism and dominationism do not hesitate to dominate.The current international situation is mainly characterized by the fact that it has got more complicated as the structure of the international relations has been reduced to the structure of “neo-Cold War” due to the imperialists’ unilateral and prejudiced bloc-forming style external policy.The prevailing situation requires each country further to hold fast to the line of independence in dealing with imperialism and all sorts of dominationist high-handed and arbitrary practices as never before.It is considerably noted that the DPRK, the Juche-oriented nation has been holding fast to the line of independence since H.E. Kim Il Sung started the Korean revolution.If the DPRK failed to consistently hold fast to the line of independence it would have not become strong nation amid the situation of the world with prevailing high-handed and arbitrary practices of imperialism and dominationism.The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea which was founded by H.E. Kim Il Sung on the 9th of September, 1948 has firmly maintained the line of independence in building the nation and activities and achieved tremendous successes in the socialist construction for over 70 years.Thanks to the line of independence of the DPRK, the Korean people have been able to safeguard their dignity and destiny, increase remarkably the strategic state of the country and expand the influence of the country.In the past the Korean people could not but suffer from all sorts of disregard and ordeals since Korea became the place of contest between big countries for a long time.Hence, the Korean people had age-old dream to live in a strong nation which no one can attack and neglect.Thanks to the strategic will of Workers’ Party of Korea to put an end to the long-standing nuclear threats of the hostile forces against the DPRK and the iron conviction of the Party which a country with moving forward by self-supporting and self-reliance is ever invincible, the DPRK became to get powerful strength to firmly safeguard its sovereignty and rights to survive and develop.The DPRK’s line of independence made the country highly increase its potential to develop the nation and open the way to meet its heyday.Reality says that holding fast to the line of independence guided by the Juche idea is genuine life.I would like to take this opportunity to express my respect to H.E. Kim Il Sung who authored the Juche idea and the Workers’ Party of Korea which thoroughly embodied the Juche idea into the reality of the DPRK.I am sure that the people of the DPRK will successfully achieve the targets set by the 8th Congress of the WPK under the wise leadership of H.E. Comrade Kim Jong Un.As I celebrate today, I am sure that if the people of Uganda follow the policy of the National Resistance Movement which upholds patriotism and self-reliance as its important manifestos the future of the Ugandan people will be much more well-being and stronger than ever before.
