Pyongyang, October 4 (KCNA) -- North Phyongan Province of the DPRK strives to reinforce the irrigation system.
Ryongchon County in the province finished the repair of embankment extending several kilometers in a short span of time after surveying the objects and factors vulnerable to flood, and successfully concluded the improvement of the river near the Ryongampho Farm.
Unjon County took a step to prevent damage to arable lands by pushing ahead with the project for reinforcing the banks of the River Jangsuthan.
The same is true of Kwaksan County, Yomju County and Jongju City.
The Cholsan County Irrigation Management Station examined the state of floodgates in its areas and supplied necessary accessories, thus contributing to the normal operation of the irrigation facilities.
The Sinuiju Irrigation Machine Factory has manufactured various kinds of water pumps and floodgates by tapping all internal reserves and potentialities. -0-
