The Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station is associated with the spirit of implementing tasks at the risk of one’s life, the heroic self-sacrificing spirit and the blood and sweat of members of the youth shock brigade who exerted themselves to carry out the lifetime instructions of Chairman Kim Jong Il, who had entrusted the construction project to the youth league and made tireless efforts for it, and give pleasure to General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

As to their achievement, Kim Jong Un said that the dam of power station Unit 1 was the one the Korean young people built on their ideological and spiritual strength and, therefore, the height of the dam could never be measured by any measuring unit, adding that the height of the dam is that of their patriotism and the youth power.
