A few days ago, the United Nations Security Council held a meeting over the political and humanitarian issues in Syria.
At the meeting, the U.S. ambassador said that the U.S. is about to provide US$ 756 million to Syria in addition to US$ 800 million worth humanitarian aid announced in May. Bragging that there is no country like the U.S. that concerns about the Syrian people’s suffering, she presumptuously urged other countries to increase the funds of humanitarian aid, following the “suit” of the U.S. What a ridiculous thing it is!
The mastermind behind the humanitarian crisis in Syria is none other than the United States. The U.S. instigated anti-government forces to seek regime change in Syria by organizing “color revolution” and funding them. Not content with this, it even occupied some of Syrian territory and is indulged in slaughter and destruction on the plea of “counterterrorism”.
Still remaining in Syria, the U.S. is attempting to suffocate it by means of all kinds of sanctions while obstructing the Syrian people’s struggle for territorial integrity and reconstruction. It is also worsening the humanitarian crisis by massively plundering Syria’s resources like crude oil.
Currently, 82% of crude oil produced in Syria is now being plundered by the U.S. army. According to the information recently released by the Syrian government, the amount of loss suffered by Syria in the field of mineral resources like crude oil and natural gas is more than US$ 107 billion.
The U.S. is beautifying its peanut“aid” as an “example”to be followed by other countries while saying this or that about the humanitarian issue in Syria. But it can never conceal its true colors as an aggressor and looter that brought about the Syrian crisis.
If the U.S. is really concerned about the humanitarian situation in Syria, it should rather stop its hypocritical harping on aid and wash its hands of Syria all at once.
