Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, sent a reply message to Bashar Al-Assad, president of the Syrian Arab Republic, on October 16.

He, in the message, expressed deep thanks to the Syrian president for having extended his heartfelt congratulations and wishes on the occasion of the 77th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The message expressed the conviction that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two parties, the two countries and the two peoples would steadily develop through the joint struggle for independence and justice.
