Kumgang-san Opera Troupe Peforms

The Kumgang-san Opera Troupe, which is renowned as a prestigious overseas national art troupe and a pride of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and Koreans in Japan, is making performance tour to glorify 2022 as a year of historic advance.
The performance tour instilled into the hearts of Koreans in Japan the strong spirit of the homeland and the indomitable fighting spirit of the people in the homeland, thus making love for the country and nation pervade the Korean community in Japan.
Its premiere was given in Gifu Prefecture on September 11.
It began with a female solo and dance "Blue Sky over My Country". Put on the stage were such numbers as jangsaenap and sohaegum ensemble the immortal classic "Nostalgia", a male duet, a group dance and folk dance "Nongakmu."
Female chorus "Our School Is Our Home Place" dealing with the laugh of children going to Korean schools gave the audience much impression as it reflects the love of the compatriots for national education.
The performances made the Korean community filled with Korean songs, rhythms and dances and love for patriotism.
Meanwhile, the Kumgang-san Opera Troupe gave a special performance on September 29 to mark the 50th anniversary of the formation of the Japan-Korea Cultural Exchange Association.
Among the audience were vice-chairpersons and directors of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, chairpersons of the Chongryon Headquarters in the Kanto area, leading officials of central leadership bodies and affiliates, officials and compatriots in different parts of Japan, personages from various circles and chiefs of solidarity organizations in Japan.
The troupe is giving patriotic performances despite many difficulties and obstacles due to the global pandemic and in the face of the Japanese reactionaries’ extreme hostile moves against the DPRK and Chongryon.
