Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- The Symposium on Space Science and Technology-2022 took place at the Grand People's Study House in the DPRK on Nov. 23-25, under the sponsorship of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.
The symposium on the theme of "Space development and national prestige" was aimed to exchange, share and spread the achievements made in the drive to break through the cutting edge in developing space science and technology, true to the decisions of the 4th and 5th plenary meetings of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and thus further accelerate the development of space.
Present there were officials, teachers, researchers, postgraduates and students of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Hamhung University of Chemical Engineering, Pyongyang University of Computer Science, the State Academy of Sciences, the Academy of Agricultural Science and other scientific and educational institutions.
The symposium was divided into panels of artificial satellite, satellite observation and communications, space materials and elements, space environment and basic science and applied technology. It deliberated and evaluated more than 180 papers presented by relevant units.
Highly appreciated there were papers dealing in a scientific and theoretical way with such urgent issues arising in the development and operation of artificial satellites as the technology for manufacturing and testing satellite devices, the technology for satellite navigation, orbit and attitude control, the technology for developing satellite cameras, the technology for satellite communications and observation, space environment and basic science and technology.
The research proposals substantially conducive to the development of various sectors of the national economy including agricultural production, forest protection and marine survey also caught the interest of experts.
The symposium marked a significant occasion in developing the country's space science and technology onto a higher stage as befits the era of our nation-first principle. -0-
