Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- The State Academy of Sciences marked its 70th founding anniversary.
The history of the development of the academy, established on Dec. 1, Juche 41 (1952) under the care of President Kim Il Sung , shines with the dedication and feats of the scientists, technicians and employees who have defended the cause of the Party and contributed to socialist construction.
The academy has played a vanguard role in building up the country's own strength and bringing about new innovations and leaps forward in all the sectors by dint of the might of self-reliance.
A meeting took place on Nov. 30 to mark the anniversary.
Attending it were Pak Thae Song, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Jon Sung Guk, vice-premier of the Cabinet, and officials, scientists, technicians and employees of the academy.
Pak Thae Song read out a congratulatory letter the WPK Central Committee sent to the scientists, technicians and employees of the academy.
On the occasion of the 70th founding anniversary of the academy, the letter extended warm congratulations to the scientists, technicians and employees of the academy who are doing their share to firmly defend the Party policies and demonstrate the prestige and might of the country by displaying the revolutionary research spirit with the trust and expectation of the Party cherished as their lifeline.
