Officials of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly and the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, armed forces organs, ministries and national agencies paid a condolatory visit to the embassy of the People's Republic of China in the DPRK on the 2nd on the occasion of the death of Jiang Zemin, former General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and former President of the People's Republic of China.
Present on the occasion were Ri Il Hwan, Secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK; Kang Yun Sok, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly; Kim Song Ryong, Vice-Premier of the Cabinet; Mun Song Hyok, Deputy Department Director of the Central Committee of the WPK; Lieutenant General Kim Min Sop, Vice-Minister of National Defence; Pak Myong Ho, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs; Kim In Chol, Vice-Minister of Public Security; Pak Kyong Il, Vice-Chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries; and Hong Kum Chol, Vice-Chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee.
A wreath was laid before the picture of Jiang Zemin in the joint name of the Central Committee of the WPK and the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly and the Cabinet of the DPRK.
Also placed there were the wreaths in the name of the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security, the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and the Pyongyang City People's Committee.
The visitors observed a moment's silence in memory of Jiang Zemin who made a contribution to the socialist construction of China and the strengthening and development of the traditional DPRK-China friendship.
Ri Il Hwan made an entry in the mourner's book.
