President Kim Il Sung not only accomplished the historic cause of founding the Workers’ Party of Korea (October 10, 1945), the organizer and guide of all victories of the Korean people, but also provided an eternal foundation for the strengthening and development of the WPK.

In his speech to the military and political cadres on August 20, Juche 34 (1945), before the founding of the Party, he set forth the task of vigorously pushing ahead with the work of training its cadres as an important part of its founding.

Immediately after the liberation of their country (August 15, 1945), the Korean revolutionaries were faced with many complicated tasks. Several obstacles and difficulties arose in carrying out those gigantic tasks, and one of the greatest obstacles was the shortage of native cadres.

Kim Il Sung attached importance to the issue of training native cadres from the first days of the building of a new country, and set it as an urgent matter to bring up Party cadres.

One day in late September of 1945, he said to the anti-Japanese revolutionary veterans that Party cadres should be trained as soon as possible in order to readjust and expand Party organizations and rally the masses. And he worked heart and soul to train Party political cadres though he was busy with the work of building a new country.

On the basis of the successes and experience gained in setting up a political cadres training institution of the Party in the form of a short-term training course to solve the immediate problem of cadres, he conceived a plan to set up a regular cadres training institution and train cadres systematically there, and worked with devotion to this end.

Unfolding the far-reaching, he said as follows: We should set up a Party school as soon as possible to train Party cadres systematically. What we need urgently today are Party and political cadres. A university should be established, but first of all, a Party school for training Party workers should be established.

At the inaugural ceremony of the Central Party School in June 1946, he delivered a speech titled, The Central Party School Is a Communist College to Train Party Cadres . In August 1948 he sent a letter of encouragement to the graduates of the Central Party School, which reads, “ Be competent officials of the Party and the state who always work with the people at the head of the people for the independence and sovereignty of the country and the freedom and happiness of the people. ”

The establishment of the Central Party School in the early days of founding of the Party provided it with a powerful “pedigree farm” for systematically training hard-core cadres and solving in depth theoretical and practical problems from its outset even under the complicated and difficult situation.

On October 17 this year, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Central Cadres Training School of the WPK, the highest institution for training Party cadres, and gave a commemorative lecture. In the lecture he recalled with deep emotion that thanks to the far-sighted initiative and leadership of President Kim Il Sung , a permanent Party school was established on June 1, 1946 to train Party cadres for the first time in the country so as to fulfil the immediate tasks of the revolution and its strategic and historic duty. He also referred to the proud course of the school that was founded under care of the leader and contributed to the implementation of the cause of the Party in each decade of the Korean revolution.
