Lecture Given by Chongryon

Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- A lecture was given at the Central Hall of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) in Tokyo on December 2 to mark the lapse of 70 years since President Kim Il Sung set forth the Juche-based line for making a radical turn in the movement of Koreans in Japan. Present there were Chairman Ho Jong Man and vice-chairpersons of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and officials of the Central Standing Committee, central organizations and affiliates of Chongryon. A video was screened at the lecture. O Kyu Sang, director of the History Institute of Koreans in Japan, gave a lecture titled "Let us usher in a new era of prosperity of Chongryon by implementing the important letter sent by the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, cherishing deep the immortal exploits of the great President Kim Il Sung who turned the movement of Koreans in Japan into a national patriotic movement". Through the lecture, Chongryon officials keenly realized that the formation of Chongryon was a fruition of the idea and leadership of Kim Il Sung on the overseas compatriots' movement and a historic event that brought about a radical turn in the development of the movement of Koreans in Japan and in their life. They pledged to fulfill their responsibility and duty as leading members of the patriotic cause in advancing the movement of Koreans in Japan along the road of Juche, patriotism and prosperity under the leadership of Kim Jong Un. The headquarters and branches of Chongryon studied the immortal exploits of the President, who turned the movement of Koreans in Japan into a national patriotic movement, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Juche-based line set forth by him.
