Peerlessly Great Men's Feats for Tideland Reclamation

Pyongyang, January 27 (KCNA) -- The DPRK's course of great creation and changes for prosperity of the country and happiness of posterity is associated with the undying patriotic feats of the peerlessly great men who unrolled a grand plan for transforming nature and glorified a new history of tideland reclamation. President Kim Il Sung published the work "Let Us Increase the Area of Cropland by Reclaiming Large Areas of Tideland" on January 27, Juche 71 (1982) to indicate the tasks for dynamically carrying out the reclamation of tideland, an important part of the country's agricultural development. A new history of tideland reclamation was made on this land under the leadership of the President who gave field guidance to the project for reclaiming Pidansom tideland, the first of its kind in the country. In the 1960s when the country was making progress at the Chollima speed, Pidansom tideland of 5 500 hectares was reclaimed and in the 1970s, Tasado tideland was reclaimed followed by Kangryong, Unryul and other large tidelands. Chairman Kim Jong Il took all necessary measures for tideland reclamation although he was busy leading the arduous march unprecedented in history to victory. The great love and trust of Kim Jong Il, who provided on a preferential basis lots of vehicles despite hardships and put forward the tideland builders as performers of feats to be remembered by the country and the people for all ages, resulted in the miracle like the appearance of Taegyedo Reclaimed Tideland whose scale is as huge as the West Sea Barrage. The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un has wisely led the struggle to successfully complete the tideland reclamation projects that would play a big role in developing the self-supporting economy of the country and improving the people's living standard. Under his energetic guidance, miraculous myths of construction were created on the west coast and the wealth of the country increased one after another in the new century of Juche. Builders of tideland, intensely loyal to the call of the Party, are now fully displaying the spirit of fortitude in the reclamation of Phyongwon, Kakhoedo and other tidelands.
